Vancouver Summer Program

It has been about 10 years since I moved to Vancouver from Japan. When I arrived here my purpose was solely sightseeing and studying English. I was planning to stay here for a year only. As Vancouver is loved by a lot of people, I too fell in love with this multi-cultural city! I decided to study English more to attend university here and obtained my BA in Linguistics from Simon Fraser University.

I enjoy mingling with people from other cultures and learning expressions from those people from all over the world. Previously I was working for Vancouver Summer Program office which is located next door to St. John’s College. I was in charge of allocating residence rooms for program participants. I highly enjoyed helping international students and I found that rewarding.

Throughout my stay in Vancouver, I received various help from school staff. I am hoping to pass on the service and help I received to the next generation who decided to study in Vancouver for their future career.
